Patlabor The Case Files Coming to PS5 and PC

Publisher Good Smile Company and developer Chime Corporation announced the 3D action game PATLABOR the Case Files for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam on March 23, 2026.

The project features a high profile staff including mechanical supervisor Yutaka Izubuchi, script supervisor Kazunori Itou, and character art supervisor Akemi Takada.

Players can experience iconic scenes from the Mobile Police Patlabor series through a narrative that offers multiple perspectives.

The Main Missions allow players to control the Special Vehicle Section 2 while Another Side Missions focus on the viewpoints of their adversaries.

The title includes over 20 different Labors such as the Ingram, the Griffon, and the Type Zero for players to master.

A dedicated Simulator Mode provides a space for users to practice shooting and engage in Labor versus Labor combat.

The story centers on Labors, which are industrial robots that led to a rise in crime and the subsequent establishment of the Metropolitan Police Department Special Vehicle Section 2.

While an official release date was not specified during the March 23, 2026 announcement, a teaser trailer and initial screenshots have been made available.

The game follows the traditions of text-based and action adventures where player agency and branching choices often define the experience.

As a 3D action title based on a storied franchise, the game aims to immerse fans in the technical and tactical world of Patrol Labors.
